Hon'ble Sir Justice Umesh Chandra Banerjee, Barrister-at Law, born on 18th November, 1937. Conducted original Suits in Calcutta High Court and in the Appellate Side, Civil and Criminal Writ matters and Revenue matters. Appointed permanent Judge, Calcutta High Court from 9th January, 1984.
Appointed as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court on 1-2-1998. Appointed as a Judge of Supreme Court of India on 9-12-1998. Retired on 17.11.2002.
