Born on 6th August, 1951 to Sri Samudrala Nagaiah and Smt Samudrala Nagaratnamma. Had his primary education in Municipal Elementary School, Patnul Street, Tirupathi and Secondary Education in Municipal High School and Sri Venkateswara High School, Tirupathi. Passed H.S.L.C in April 1967. Studied B.Sc., Degree (Maths, Physics and Chemistry) at Sri Venkateswara Arts College, Tirupathi. Passed B.L. in the year 1973 from Sri Venkateswara University College, Tirupathi. Obtained First Class in all 3 years of Law Degree. Attained First Rank in B.L. examinations from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi.
Enrolled as Advocate in September, 1973. Practiced as Advocate at Tirupathi Courts for 8 months and then shifted practice to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh in June, 1974. Elected as Executive Member of A.P. High Court’s Advocates Association in the year 1978.
Joined in judicial service as District Munsif in November, 1979. Worked in the cadre of District Munsif at Narsapur, West Godavari, Pattipadu, East Godavari and Vijayawada. Subsequently promoted as Sub Judge in August, 1988. Worked as Sub Judge at Gudivada and Rajahmundry. Appointed as District Judge (Grade-II) by transfer in September, 1993. Worked as Additional District Judge in Prakasam at Ongole, I Additional District Judge, West Godavari District at Eluru. Worked as Special Judge for C.B.I Cases, Visakhapatnam and worked as Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge for trial of Jublee Hills Car Bomb Blast Case, Hyderabad. Worked as Chief Legal Advisor to Additional Director General of Police, C.I.D., in Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh for three years.
Elected as President of Andhra Pradesh Judicial Officers’ Association in the years 2003 and 2006 for two consecutive terms. Promoted as District Judge (Grade-I), District Judge, (Selection Grade) and District Judge (Super Time Scale). Worked as Principal District Judge of Vizianagaram District, Adilabad District and East Godavari District at Rajahmundry. Worked as Metropolitan Sessions Judge at Hyderabad till elevation to the Bench of High Court of A.P.
Elevated as Additional Judge of High Court of A.P. on 14-10-2009. Appointed as Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh and assumed charge as such, on 26-11-2010. Retired on attaining the age of superannuation on the afternoon of 05-08-2013.
