Hon’ble Mr. Justice R. Kantha Rao was born on 10.5.1954 in Balada Village of Srikakulam District (A.P) in an Agricultural family.
Father late Sri Reddi Venkata Narayana Naidu is a Village Munsif and mother Sesirekamma is a house wife.
Studied Intermediate and B.Sc. degree course in Government College, Srikakulam.
Obtained Law degree from University Law College, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam in the year 1979.
Enrolled as an Advocate on the rolls of Bar Council State of Andhra Pradesh in January 1980.
Joined as a junior in the office of late Sri Vandana Satyanarayana of Srikakulam, a distinguished advocate in civil and criminal matters.
Practiced dealing with civil and criminal cases in Srikakulam and Pathapatnam for thirteen years.
Selected as District and Sessions Judge by means of direct recruitment in the year 1993.
Worked as Additional District Judge, Hindupur, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Visakhapatnam, Principal District Judge, West Godavari at Eluru, Director, A.P. Judicial Academy and Principal District Judge, Visakhapatnam.
Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 10.4.2008.
Assumed charge as Permanent Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 20.01.2010.
Retired on attaining the age of superannuation on the afternoon of 09.05.2016.
