Born in an agriculture family on 18.04.1945 in a tiny village Paidipalem, Simhadripuram Mandal, Kadapa District and had primary education in the village; High School Education in Zilla Parishad High School, Kondapuram and Simhadripuram, Kadapa District. Studied B.Sc. at Kadapa and obtained Law Degree from B.M.S. College, Bangalore. Did Post Graduation in Social Science and Administration in the National Institute of Social Science, Bangalore. Enrolled as an Advocate in the month of December, 1972 and practiced at District Court, Kadapa in the office of late Utukuru Ramireddy, Ex. M.P., a leading Criminal Lawyer, at Kadapa. Appointed as District Munsif in the month of August, 1976 and worked as District Munsif at Tadepalligudem, Dharmavaram and Tadipatri. Worked as Assistant Sessions Judge-cum-Subordinate Judge at Madanapalle, Gooty and Ananthapur. Promoted as District and Sessions Judge Grade-II in the year 1990 and worked as Additional District Judge at Karimnagar, Tirupathi, Rajahmundry and Kurnool. Worked as Principal District Judge, Sangareddy at Medak, Visakhapatnam, Khammam, Prakasam District at Ongole and Adilabad. Promoted as District and Sessions Judge Grade – I in the year 1997. Worked as Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Hyderabad and also worked as Director, A.P. Judicial Academy, Secunderabad. Worked as Chairman, Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal, Hyderabad and also served as Registrar General, High Court of A.P., Hyderabad. He was elevated as Additional Judge, High Court A.P., and sworn in on 26.05. 2005. Appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 20-02-2006 F.N.
The Hon'ble Sri Justice P.Lakshmana Reddy, Judge, High Court of A.P., has relieved himself from the office of Judge, on the afternoon of 13.02.2007, consequent upon his appointment as Vice-Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad Bench at Hyderabad. Retired as Judge, High Court of A.P., Hyderabad on the Forenoon of 18.04.2007.
