Hon’ble Sri Justice M.Ranaga Reddy was born on 1st July, 1933 in a village at Anantapur district. He comes from middle class agricultural family. He had his school education in London Mission High School at Gooty and St. Johns High School at Bellary. He joined Government Arts College in the year 1949. After completing graduation in the above college he joined Law College at Madras in 1954. On completion of law in the year 1956 he enrolled in the year 1957. He practised at Anantapur Bar. He joined service in the year 1963 as Munsif Magistrate and promoted as Sub-Judge in the year 1971. He was promoted as Grade-II District Judge in the year 1975. He worked as Chairman of Land Reforms Appellate Tribunal during the year 1977 - 1979 at Khammam. He was promoted as Grade-I District Judge in the year 1983. He worked as Chairman, Sales tax Appellate Tribunal, and later as Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad till his elevation as Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 16-03-1990 A.N.
