HON’BLE DR. JUSTICE MOTILAL B. NAIK

Hon’ble Dr. Justice Motilal B. Naik was born in “Naginayanicheruvu Tanda” Village of Somandepalli Mandal, Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, India on April 15, 1942. Had Primary education in the Village School at Naginayanicheruvu Tanda and High School in the Government High School at Penukonda and in Vivekananda High School at Lepakshi in Anantapur District. Studied Pre-University Course in the Government Arts College at Anantapur during the year 1959-60. He went to Bombay and worked in a Central Government Office since 1965.While serving in a Central Government Office at Bombay, prosecuted further studies and obtained B.A. (Special) degree with Economics as the main subject from Siddartha College of Arts & Science (Evening), at Bombay in the year 1971.

Obtained Law Degree from Siddarth College of Law, Bombay in the year 1974.In order to settle down in legal practice, he gave up the Central Service in the month of June, 1977, came down to Hyderabad and enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad on 4th August, 1977. Initially practised in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad. Later, in the year 1978, shifted practice to the District & Sessions Court at Warangal and continued to practice there up to the end of 1985. In the early part of 1986, again shifted practice to High Court at Hyderabad.Appointed as Assistant Government Pleader in the High court of Andhra Pradesh in the month of June, 1986 and continued as such up to 4.8.1988.

Appointed as Government Pleader in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh with effect from 5.8.1988 and represented various departments of the State Government. Elevated as Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh w.e.f. 5th February, 1992.A senate Member from 1980 to 1983 and Dean, Faculty of Law Kakatiya University, Warangal for two years during 1994 to 1996. The Kakatiya University, Warangal, conferred the Degree of Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) in its XIII Convocation held at Warangal on 8th January,1998. He was retired on 15th April, 2004.
