Born on 01-08-1953 in an agricultural family, at Gavicherla Village, Warangal District, Telangana State. Had his primary education in the Primary School in the same village and High School education in Zilla Parishad High School, Sanghem, and studied Intermediate at Narsampet. Completed B.Sc., Degree course in the C.K.M. College, Warangal. Obtained Bachelor’s as well as Master’s Degree (International Law) in Law from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Was enrolled with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in February, 1979 and joined the office of Sri P. Babul Reddy. Remained there till December 1983, when Sri Babul Reddy gave up the practice. Started practicing independently since January 1984. Functioned as part-time Lecturer in Post-Graduate College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad, for about one and half years.
Was appointed as Standing Counsel for Osmania University in 1985. Has been elected as the Secretary of the A.P. High Court Advocates’ Association in the year 1988-89 and 1989-90.
Was appointed as Government Pleader for Higher Education in the High Court of A.P in 1996; was also Standing Counsel for the Warangal District Coop. Central Bank, and as the Senior Central Government Standing Counsel by the Government of India in the High Court of A.P in July 2000 and held that office till elevation as Judge of the High Court of A.P on 10-09-2001. Sworn in as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 10-09-2001. Sworn in as Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh w.e.f. 31-07-2002. Appointed as the Executive Chairman of A.P. State Legal Services Authority in June 2014. Appointed as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and assumed charge as such on the forenoon of 02-01-2015.
