Hon’ble Sri Justice G. Venkatarama Sastri was born on 14.4.1914.Studied at A.C. College, Guntur and took his Degree in 1935.Stood first in Economics and also got a double Second Class. Studied the previous year Law Examination at Trivandrum and came first.Was the recipient of Muthu Naikan Memorial Prize.Studied B.L. at Law College, Madras.Was an apprentice under Sir Alladi.Enrolled as an Advocate of the Madras High Court in 1939 and worked in the Chambers of Sir Alladi till 1944.Associated himself with other renowned Advocates, i.e., Sri V. Govindarajachari, Sri Ch. Raghave Rao, Sri P. Satyanarayan Rao,Sri K. Umamaheswaran and Sri K. Bhimasankaram,who later became Judges. Was appointed as II Government Pleader in 1968 and became prl. Government Pleader in June, 1970 and continued in that capacity till his elevation. Sworn as an Addl. Judge of A.P. High Court on 10.5.1972 and appointed as permanent Judge on 10.6.1973. Retired on 14.4.1976.
