HONOURABLE SMT. JUSTICE MOUSHUMI BHATTACHARYA

Did her schooling from Loreto House, Calcutta and B.A. with Honours in English from Jadavpur University. Read for her LL.M. (1999) at the University of Cambridge with Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. After completing her LL.B.(5-year course) from the University of Calcutta in 1996, was awarded Certificate of Qualification in February 2006 by the National Committee on Accreditation, Canada, after completing the prescribed course of studies and passing the required examinations for a foreign trained lawyer. Enrolled as an Advocate in the Roll of Advocates of the Bar Council of West Bengal on 19th November, 1997, after completing her training under Rule 5 of the Training Rules 1996 framed by the Bar Council of India. Practised in the High Court at Calcutta, as well as the Supreme Court of India, and other High Courts including of Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad as well as the Company Law Board, Debts Recovery Tribunal, Securities and Exchange Board of India, Copyright Board, Intellectual Property Appellate Board and Securities Appellate Tribunal. Primary areas of practice were Civil, Company, Arbitration and Constitutional matters with specialization in Corporate and the Intellectual Property Laws. Elevated to the Bench of the High Court at Calcutta on 21st September, 2017. Was transferred to the High Court for the State of Telangana pursuant to the recommendation of the Collegium of the Supreme Court and assumed charge as a Judge of the High Court for the State of Telangana on 28.03.2024.
